It has come to our attention that a third party communications service provider is rebroadcasting CommunitySafe messages without authority and in some cases charging a fee. There are no agreements in place to rebroadcast CommunitySafe information for commercial gain or advantage.

www.communitysafe.gov.uk is the only official channel from which to receive messages sent by Police and Local Authority partners using the CommunitySafe system

CommunitySafe is free to receive via the website and email and just the price of a normal text message via your mobile

Signing up directly to CommunitySafe delivers additional key benefits, which you will NOT get via a third party:

• Free - sign up to receive messages via email and from the website
• Receive information on your mobile via SMS for the cost of a standard text
• Receive annotated maps to your email and mobile based on cordons, closed roads etc in addition to other information provided by the Police and partners
• Flexible contact methods - you decide what information you sign up to and how you receive it
