Ravensbury Ward 28th June 2010 28 Jun 00:01
The Ravensbury SNT recently met with the Ravensbury Ward Panel members and it has been agreed the ward priorities remain unchanged: • Anti Social behaviour in general • Anti Social behaviour by motorists • School Truancy Vehicle Crime During the recent hot weather the team have noticed drivers are leaving their vehicles unattended with windows open. We urge all drivers to check their vehicle is secure when leaving the vehicle unattended even for a short while. Most offenders are opportunists and it only takes a few seconds for valuables to be taken from an open window or an unlocked door. We would also like to remind drivers not to leave valuables on display in the vehicle including “sat nav” and mobile phone holders. Take care of your mobile phone Useful hints to safeguard your mobile phone. Mobile phones have a unique IMEI number, you can find this number by typing *#06# into your phone and a 15 digit number will be displayed. Register your IMEI number free at www.immobilise.com Property mark your phone with your door number and postcode this will help the police identify the rightful owners of stolen or lost phones. Use your phone’s security lock code. Inform your service provider immediately if your phone is lost or stolen. Report your lost or stolen phone to the police. Remember to give your phone’s IMEI to the person to whom you are reporting to. Never leave your phone on display in a vehicle Always remove the phone cradle from your car; Offenders may assume the phone is in the glove box. As well as registering your mobile phone, why not register all your property with a serial number. Immobilise website is an excellent way of locating the rightful owners of lost or stolen property. This is a free site where anyone can register their property by logging all their property with a serial number onto the web site. www.immobilise.com Remember if you see or hear anything suspicious call 999 Have Your Say on Policing in London The Metropolitan Police Authority (MPA) is consulting on London's policing priorities and is interested in the opinion of people in Ravensbury ward.
