Ravensbury Ward The Ward’s current priorities for the forth coming months as agreed by the local ward panel at our last meeting. Ward Priority - Anti Social Behaviour in general We have continued to actively patrol the Ward using both plain clothes and uniformed patrols. On Friday 28th August a man was seen to discard an item, which when retrieved was found to be herbal cannabis. The man concerned was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and bailed to attend Wimbledon Magistrates Court on Thursday 10th September 2009. On Saturday 29th August, whilst on plain clothes patrol in Ravensbury Park, Police noticed a man holding a reefa. As soon as the male became aware that the plain clothes officer was in fact a Police officer, he discarded the reefa into the undergrowth. After being assisted by two PCSOs, the team retrieved the article and confirmed this as cannabis. The man received a cannabis warning and the item seized. On Thursday 3rd September Police stopped two males cycling on the footpath in Morden town centre. Both men were searched and one of the males was found to be in possession of cannabis. As a result he was issued with an eighty pound fixed penalty notice. Anti Social Behaviour by motorists Ravensbury Ward has proactively dealt with Anti Social Behaviour by motorists. Since the last update, we have issued ten fixed penalty notices to drivers. Each offender can expect to receive three penalty points as well a sixty pound penalty fee.
