Lower Morden Communitysafe 15th May 2010
Update on Ward Priorities.
1) Garage Burglary near Dunster Avenue, Morden
Uniform patrols of the alleyways and roads in this area continue. There have been no further offences. The team are looking into new long term solutions to bolster security of premises where access is gained from rear alleyways. This work is being undertaken by PC Keith Stewart.
2) Criminal Damage to Motor Vehicles in Lynmouth Avenue, Morden
Patrols continue and at present no new offences have been reported.
3) ASB in Four Acres Estate
I have recently spoken Merton Priory homes that are responsible for the estate. They are looking into the issues re alcoves at the rear of some of the blocks and also the unfenced area near the brook. These are areas that have routinely attracted ASB.
4) ASB in Beaver Close
The team continue to patrol this area of the ward but there have been no recent complaints. Merton Council has agreed with the Housing Trusts to erect Dog Fouling Bins. This will be done in the next few weeks.
As part of our continuing fight against burglaries, can I just inform everyone that the price of gold has just rose significantly. Therefore the team would advise anyone who has a lot of gold jewellery in their homes to consider the use of a floor mounted safe (available from most hardware stores) or alternatively a safety deposit box.
The team continues to work with the local community and visitors to Lower Morden Ward to ensure public safety and Lower Morden continues to be one of the safest wards in London. If you have any concerns re crime or Anti Social Behaviour please contact the team on 0208 721 2456 or email LowerMorden.SNT@met.police.uk
Thanks
