Burglary & Motor Vehicle Crime 08 Jan 14:00
Burglary & Motor Vehicle Crime. Garage Burglary Due to a recent increase in burglaries involving sheds and garages across the Borough, Supt Patterson and I are requested that residents ensure that their garages and sheds are locked. I would also ask anyone to ensure the valuable items are not visible and any suspicious behaviour is reported to the police either via 999, Ward mobile or 0300 123 1212. I would especially request residents in Lynmouth Avenue and surrounding streets to take ten minutes and secure their premises. There have been a small number of garages broken into since the New Year. Motor Vehicle Crime During the summer the Ward Panel asked the SNT to take on Motor Vehicle Crime as a priority that we looked to solve. By a number of different tactics including advertising of security in car parks, crime alerts and letters to registered keepers leaving valuables in their vehicles we have seen a decrease. The team would like to continue to reduce this crime. We clearly need the assistance of vehicle owners. I would ask vehicle owners to ensure they remove valuable articles from their vehicles when they are unattended. This includes sat navs/ mobile phones or anything they may indicate one may be in the vehicle. The team will also be holding at Motor Vehicle clinic on the 31st January 2010 @ Wyevale Garden centre between 11am - 3pm. We will be giving out advice and also marking any valuables i.e. sat navs with UV marker pens. The team continues to provide an effective police response to issue concerning the residents/ visitors to Lower Morden Ward. If you have any concerns re crime or Anti Social Behaviour please contact the team on 0208 721 2456 or email LowerMorden.SNT@met.police.uk Thanks Stuart WILTSHIRE PS3VW
