Dear residents, CRIME FIGURES We've had five residential burglaries (1 commercial burglaries) since my last update on 8th May. Other figures for this period are: Robberies: 1 (commercial) Assault: 3 Domestic incidents where no offences alleged or suspected: 4 Public Order Offences: 2 Racially aggravated Public Order Offences: 1 Theft of motorvehicles: 0 Theft from motorvehicle: 5 Theft of pedal cycle: 2 Shoplifting: 9 Other theft: 4 Possession of Cannabis: 2 Arson: 0 Criminal Damage: 7 Not quite as good as the last period, but still not a cause for concern. Your team are trying to address the burglary numbers (which still averages one burglary every five days). Littering and anti social behaviour are still being addressed but incidents now are few and far between. DRIVE OUT VEHICLE CRIME This months free gift is a warning triangle shaped air freshener (apple smell I think) with 'STOP, ALL VALUABLES HAVE BEEN REMOVED'. This acts as a reminder to remove your valuables when leaving the vehicle. Please email or telephone the team if you wish to have one or two. The campaign has been successful and overall, instances of theft from vehicles has reduced. BOGUS EDF CALLER There has been an incident where a resident was telephoned by a female porporting to be from EDF energy, offering a free device to reduce the monthly bills. The caller then asked the resident for bank details to confirm identity. EDF energy confirm that they are not running a campaign with any free device. As always, your Safer Neighbourhoods Team patrol on foot, pedal cycle and motorcycle. Please feel free to stop and speak to them concerning any issues.
