Dear residents.
Recently the Colliers Wood Safer Neighbourhoods Team has been dealing with anti-social behaviour in Singleton Close, specifically around numbers 50-59. A large group of youths have been hanging around the area until the early hours of the morning, being noisy, intimidating residents, drinking alcohol and smoking drugs. The team have been regularly patrolling the area and engaging with the youths and moving them on.
It was believed they may be using stolen cycles to get around so a warrant was granted and one of the youths houses raided. During the search a quantity of cannabis was found, along with scales and distribution bags. The youth was arrested for possession with intent to supply cannabis. Another youth’s house was also entered and he was arrested for being wanted by police for various offences. Both were charged at Wimbledon Police Station and go to court in the near future.
This was a good result for the team and demonstrates anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated on Colliers Wood Ward at any level. Offenders will be investigated and dealt will according to the law. Colliers Wood SNT are working alongside Merton Council and the local residents to stop the anti-social behaviour in Singleton Close for good and let the residents live their lives in peace.
