Dear residents, We have recently received reports that a male has been knocking on doors within your area. The male purports to be from a building company. He tells residents that he has identified potential problems within their property and then goes on to state that repair work is necessary. It is our belief that in the majority of cases, there are no repairs necessary. On the rare occasions that work may be required, it is often charged at hugely inflated prices. We would advise you not to allow any such caller into your home, and not to utilise the offer of repair work. Advice from reputable builders can be ascertained from various sources. If you suspect that this male has knocked at your door, or you can provide us with any additional information, please contact your Safer Neighbourhoods Team on the telephone number or e-mail address shown below.
