The Wimbledon Park Safer Neighbourhood Team has been busy around the ward over the last couple of weeks.
In addition to our patrols and visits, we have been working together with Merton Borough Council arranging clear-up operations as part of a community payback scheme. Work is still on-going in the Gap Road and Wandle Trail areas. We hope that local residents will begin to see an improvement in the appearance of those areas.
It has been good to see people at our drop-in surgeries and visiting the mobile reassurance vehicle where we have managed to property mark a number of your bikes.
Our surgery is a regular event on the 1st Wednesday of each month at the Pavilion in Wimbledon Park between 6pm and 8pm. Please come and see us and let us know if we can help you in any way.
************Crime Prevention Advice*************
Please be aware that there has been an increase in the number of vehicles broken into in the Wimbledon Park area. You can help deter these crimes by making sure that you do not leave valuables visible and by removing sat.nav holders from your windscreens. Some recent attempted thefts have been when the bracket was left on display. The would-be thieves invariably cause damage getting into the car but leave empty handed as the sat.nav has been removed. This causes unnecessary expense and inconvenience.
If you would like to contact us about any local issues or concerns, please call on
0208 7212452 (non-emergency) or e-mail WimbledonPark.snt@met.police.uk
Many thanks
