Pollards Hill update 17 Jun 13:26
Within the last few weeks last years crime figures have been published showing a large drop in crime for the previous year for Pollards Hill. Burglary is down by about 8% for the year, robbery approximately 30% and motor vehicle crime a small drop of about 1%. Overall there has been just over an 18% reduction in total offences, meaning over 120 less victims of crime just for Pollards Hill ward. This is a fantastic achievement of which we can all feel very proud. It’s thanks to the local community that results like these can be achieved. But we must not rest on our laurels. Already this year we have seen a large increase in robberies on the ward. Within the last few weeks a number of people of all ages have been threatened with violence and had property taken. A number of these have involved members of the public on their way home from work, late at night and getting off a bus in South Lodge Avenue. Please take care and try to be aware of your surroundings. Keep to the well lit streets and if you see anything suspicious dial 999. Your local police have put on extra patrols during peak periods to try and combat these problems.
