Crim Alert - Theft Of Lead From Rooftops 15 May 12:50
There has been a recent rise in theft of lead. This mainly occurs during night time hours (11pm-3am). Offenders are accessing roof tops and stripping lead from both commercial and residential buildings, including houses and blocks of flats. In March and April there were 15 thefts of lead. Offences are pretty spread across the borough so there are no hotspot areas at present. It is advised that access to roof tops is made as secure as is possible, with anti climb paint where appropriate. Please remember to lock up access points properly and remain vigilant.
