There have been a number of garages broken into within the last few weeks around the Sherwood Park Road area, where entry has been gained from the rear of houses, particularly where premises back onto alleyways. Property taken includes children’s motorised toys and pedal cycles. Please ensure garages are secured properly. Pollards Hill Safer Neighbourhood Team can advise on suitable security measures as it has been shown that normal garage door locks are not adequate enough. Please contact us to arrange a comprehensive Home Security Survey on the number below.
Three people were arrested this week for attempted burglary in Sherwood Park Road after the occupier heard suspicious noises coming from outside. Police arrived quickly and arrested a female who was acting as a lookout and two other males were found by a police dog unit hiding in the rear garden. Two males have since been charged with criminal damage.
Pollards Hill were contacted this week by Mitcham Common Conservators who informed us of three people sleeping rough under canvas by the Beehive Bridge on Commonside East. Three people were spoken to, their camp dismantled and told to leave. At the time of writing they have not returned but we will continue to monitor the situation. This followed complaints by local residents.
