Polish male arrested for serious assault 29 Dec 12:52

Dear residents,
On 09/12/2009 in South Lodge Avenue, Pollards Hill officers identified a Polish male who was wanted for a serious assault in Poland where a female had her arm broken. He gave false details but was identified using a photograph and arrested. He was also wanted for a breach of a restraining order. This man was due to be extradited back to Poland.

Update on burglary from Pollards hill Safer Neighbourhood Team: There have been a number of daytime burglaries occurring on the ward within the last month. Some of these involved access being gained via the rear of the property, often by smashing a window or patio door. Please ensure you always lock all doors and windows at the rear of your house, as well as any rear access gates. Lock away any ladders, and make it as difficult as possible for burglars to gain access to your premises. Consider planting thorny bushes by boundaries that could be climbed over as well as installing security lighting. Please contact Pollards Hill Safer Neighbourhoods to arrange for a comprehensive home security survey to be conducted for your home, free of charge.

For information there continues to be a decline in the number of burglaries on the ward compared to last year. Please continue to report any suspicious activity to police on the numbers below.

The next drop in surgery will be held at the New Horizon Centre on 6/1/2010 at 11am. This is a great opportunity to meet your team and discuss any issues that you have. We will be positioned by the main entrance.

We hope you all had a safe Christmas and wishing you a Happy New Year.
