On Tuesday 30th March 2010 PCSO 7261vw David Richardson and PCSO 7253vw Gavin Strong attended Stanford Primary School, Chilmark Road, SW16 to deliver a talk to all pupils from Nursery up to Year 6. This is part of Mertons Safer Schools Partnership scheme.
The PCSOs discussed topics such as
Stranger Danger
Getting Lost
Meeting the Police
Playing Safely
Road Safety
Moving On
Although these can be important subjects for young people, the idea was to get the children used to Police and their pressence.
This was well received by both teachers and pupils.
Longthornton Safer Neighbourhoods Team will look to do another day at the School next term where we will arrange to show the pupils a Police Motor Bike, Immediate Response Vehicle and a Marked Police Van.
If there are any groups that you feel would benefit from a visit from the police, groups such as Beavers, Rainbows, Brownies please contact your local team.
