CRICKET GREEN WARD UPDATE 08/11/2009 For the past two weeks the team has been involved in the Metropolitan Police Halloween and Fireworks initiative. We have been working late shifts along with all of the other Safer Neighbourhoods Teams patrolling not just Cricket Green but the whole of Mitcham. During the past two weeks there have been very few calls regarding misuse of fireworks and only two calls over the period for Cricket Green in total. WARD PRIORITIES – BURGLARY AND THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE During the past two weeks we have ensured that in addition to the Anti Social Behaviour patrols we have spent time on High visibility patrols of the ward to combat burglary and vehicle crime. We have conducted numerous stop and accounts and stop and search over the period and continue to visit every victim of crime to offer crime prevention advice and home security guidance. WARD PANEL MEETING Our next ward panel meeting is on December 1st at 1800hrs where we will review our current priorities and update the panel with what we have been doing over the past couple of months. REASSURANCE UNIT We will be taking the mobile reassurance unit on to the Willow Lane Industrial Estate on Tuesday December the 8th between 12pm and 2pm. We will be there to address any concerns of people from or using the Industrial Estate and will be providing Crime prevention advice and guidance as usual. Please feel free to come along and visit us. We are awaiting confirmation of a site to place the unit so I will update with the exact location as soon as we know. STAFF CHANGES We have a couple of staff changes to report. PC Simon Wallace has now left the team after 18 months with us and PC Louise Vickers has joined us from the Figges Marsh team to replace him. We will also be getting an additional PCSO in December so will have an additional officer out on the ground patrolling for 2010.
