Panel meeting On the 21st July 2010 Lavender Fields Safer neighbourhood team held a panel meeting where we discussed ward priorities with panel members. It was decided that the priorities would remain the same. The current priorities for the team are.  Burglary  Youth engagement  Antisocial behaviour by youth Gilpin close Meet the streets Meet the streets is a brand new initiative that has been launched recently across the borough which is being implemented by Police officers from the safer neighbourhood’s team. Meet the streets has been designed so that an officer from each Safer Neighbourhoods Team will visit every house on their ward, to meet the residents and find out more about their concerns and provide them with a number of useful contact details. Dog chipping day On 27th July the Lavender Fields team conducted a free dog chipping day outside Lavender Children’s centre with the assistance of the dog welfare service. The dog chipping was offered free of charge and is used to help promote owners in being responsible for their pets. It was a successful day with eight dog owners attending and having their dogs chipped. Sheldrick Close Fun day On 31st July 2010 the team were invited to attend the second Sheldrick Close HERA fun day, the day is for the residents to get together, relax and have fun. The team attended, providing a safe and fun environment for all those present. We provided advice around crime prevention and had a number of free security items available. The day was enjoyed by all with a number of the young children having a great time playing in the police car. Ward Surgeries Ward surgeries are for you as a local resident to come along and discuss your views on the crime and disorder that affects you. Community Bus and Street Briefing events offer you the opportunity to have your property marked, get a number of crime prevention items such as number plate’s screws and to discuss your local concerns with the team.
