When an offer appears too good to be TRUE… 10 May 09:04
There have been a number of cases recently where members of public have been approached in the street and have been offered what they believe to be a laptop or camera. After handing the money over the item was found to be bottles of water or onions of the same weight. A few months ago we arrested 2 males in Eastcote Lane at the junction of Moat Farm Road, near the no-entry. They had a laptop, a receipt, loads of empty laptop bags and loads of sacks of onions. Should you be approached by people offering you goods in those circumstances always call 999.
