The Met Office have issued a severe weather warning affecting London & the South east. Please check www.metoffice.gov.uk for details. Issued at: 1652 on Mon 30 Apr 2012
Valid from: 2100 on Mon 30 Apr 2012 Valid to: 1500 on Tue 1 May 2012 Outbreaks of rain, heavy and possibly thundery, are likely to affect southern England and the southern half of Wales, late on Monday and during Tuesday.
The public should be aware that, following recent heavy rainfall, further localised flooding is possible, with parts of Devon, Dorset and Somerset looking especially vulnerable. There will also be difficult driving conditions at times.
As we move through daylight hours on Tuesday the risk of heavy rain will gradually reduce.
In addition, strong northeasterly winds are likely across the Midlands and parts of Wales.
The Environment Agency have also issued flood alerts for south east england, details can be found at http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/homeandleisure/floods/34678.aspx?type=Region&term=Southeast&from=fl Issued by Peter Reeves Westminster Contingency Planning Team |

Officers are in attendance at an incident in Tottenham Court Road where a 50 year old man is causing a disturbance. Police were called at 11.59 on Friday 27 April to an office building on Tottenham Court Road. Items, including electrical equipment, have been thrown out of a fifth floor window. A 300m cordon has been put in place and a negotiator is on scene. We would advice people to keep clear of the area due to congestion. No reported injuries at this time. |

INFORMATION - QUEEN'S DIAMOND JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS 2nd JUNE 2012 - 5th JUNE 2012March 28, 2012 07:34
Dear All, From Ch Supt Alaric Bonthron Ladies/Gentlemen This is an early heads up regarding planned events over the Jubilee Weekend. As you will see from the attached link on the direct gov website there will be a significant impact on London across the extended bank Holiday weekend. I have been appointed Bronze Community, and the CSSC hub will be operating - as it will regarding the Torch Relay events across the UK. The link _http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Nl1/Newsroom/Features/DG_WP200687_ highlights the many events which will take place and I would advise planning starts now, for all your sectors, around that weekend's events. There will be large crowds in town and around the Central London area. There will also be road closures due to parades and processions which, again, are outlined in the link on Direct Gov. You will know from examination of your own operations in the light of these plans how these events and the expected crowds will impact on your business. I will be liaising with the command team and partners and aim to update you as often as possible, highlighting issues of which you need to be aware. I would be grateful for any information which comes to your notice regarding protests, rumours of action etc so that we can work on any necessary messages in response. This will be a large scale event for the MPS, City of London and British Transport Police. I would encourage the promotion of Neighbourhood Link amongst your sector now as this will aid my messaging and help in our preparation for these events. RECOMMENDED ACTION: 1. REVIEW THE DIRECT GOV WEBSITE AND PLANNED ACTIVITIES AGAINST YOUR BUSINESS. ANY INFORMATION YOU THINK YOU MAY NEED WHICH IS NOT AVAILABLE PLEASE LET THE HUB KNOW SO WE CAN TRY AND ACTION OR LET YOU KNOW WHY WE CANNOT. 2. START SIGN UP ACROSS YOUR SECTOR FOR NEIGHBOURHOOD LINK AT ___WWW.NEIGHBOURHOODLINK.MET.POLICE.UK_ ENSURING YOUR ENTRY IS IN THE SECTOR THAT REFLECTS YOUR BUSINESS. 3. ANY COMPANY WITH RIVER VIEW PREMISES SEEKING TO HOLD ANY CORPORATE EVENT OVER THAT WEEKEND THEN PLEASE LET ME KNOW SO WE CAN ENSURE THE COMMAND TEAMS ARE AWARE, YOU ARE AWARE OF ANY RESTRICTIONS WHICH WILL BE IN PLACE, AND WE CAN ADVISE ON RIVERSIDE ACTIVITY AS YOU MAY HAVE TO REVIEW CONTINGENCY PLANS. Many thanks Alaric |
