Please be aware of some events and a demonstration that are occurring that could effect you this weekend. Saturday 04/09/2010 Trafalgar Square. 1300-1700hrs. Liberty Festival. Approximately 3000 people are expected to promote the contribution to art that is made by disabled persons. Authorized by the GLA and stewarded by SFM. Marble Arch to Grosvenor Square. 1400hrs+. Al Quds will be holding a march followed with a rally to show support for the rights of Pakistan. 500 or more persons expected. Open source information suggests that the Muslim Defence League will also be attending this event. Counter protests to this event are likely from groups such as March for England and the English Defence League. Sunday 05/09/2010. 0930-1630Hrs. The Mayor’s Skyride. Cycle event will have a circular route that will take in the Tower of London, St Paul's Cathedral, Lower/Upper Thames Street, The Bank in the City of London. Victoria Embankment, Buckingham Palace, Parliament Square, Whitehall, St James’s Park, Parliament square, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. Expected maximum registration of 45,000 people although last year 65,000 participated. Please be aware of potential road closures in and around the area prior to and at the conclusion of this event.
