Gipsy Hill SNT Dangerous Dog Operation 17 Jun 13:31
The Gipsy Hill SNT, PC Cronkshaw, stopped a male walking in the street with what he believed to be a Red Nosed pit-bull in the area of St Gothards Road. PC Cronkshaw provided information at Camberwell Green Magistrates Court on 02.06.2010 and a warrant was issued under Section 5(2) Dangerous Dogs Act 1991. This was executed by the Gipsy Hill SNT on 09.06.2010 with the Metropolitan Police Service Status Dog Unit and Lambeth Police Task Force. The intention was to seize the dog and search for any documentation in relation to breeding and fighting. A male was arrested at the address in question for being in possession of a Dangerous Dog (confirmed Red Nosed pit-bull) which was seized by the status dog unit and taken to their kennels. The male has been charged with Possessing a Dangerous Dog contrary to Section 1(7) Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.He was bailed to attend Camberwell Green Magistrates Court. PS Mills of the Gipsy Hill SNT said “This sends out a message that illegal breeds of dogs will not be tolerated on Gipsy Hill Ward. We encourage anyone to come forward with information about a crime of this nature, or any other, which affects the community and dog walkers alike"
