Maintain vigilance over burglary please. 16 Oct 10:18

Recent communitysafe messages contained requests for ongoing vigilance against potential intruders and I know this seems to be a message which is repeated ad nauseum.

Do please be aware that your efforts, are paying dividends - Thank You

To date in October, we have been notified of only one burglary offence in Merton Park. This compares to 4 in the same period for 2008, and 5 in 2007.

The roads which are at most potential risk are those to the north particularly in and around Kingston Road, where there is activity on neighbouring Dundonald Ward.

Cross-ward offending from Abbey ward is being mitigated by work between ourselves, our crime prevention design advisor and Tramlink. Specially trained officers have inspected Tramlink fencing to ensure its integrity, and letters, and crime prevention booklets provided to homes in Dorset Road bordering the tramline advising on potential further security measures homeowners may wish to make.

We continue to monitor reports of offences on neighbouring wards, and direct patrol activity on our ward to those adjacent parts in an effort to further reduce offending.

Please feel free to contact us as always on either 0208 721 2451 or via email to mertonpark.SNT@met.police.uk. Thank you for continuing to use Communitysafe
